SO SAD NEWS ABOUT PAVEL
28-11-2016We learn today from a cycling czech association, the death on the bike, already a few time ago of one of our cycloclimbing friend, the czech manager of the B.I.G., and the webmaster of the website showing the czech climbs, Pavel Vanis. I just felt strange that he didn't answer to our mails those last months. So sad news for me and all the guys who met him in the Tatras meeting 4 years ago. (see photo with him on the left side and the president). We'll add the czech National challenge in the year 2017 in your honour because you were the first builder of this list. RIP Pavel and thanks for what you did for the cycloclimbers in your country
Pavel was one of the first members of the B.I.G. challenge, the first czech to subscribe. he was passionated. You can always see his works on http://www.vugtk.cz/vanis~ (see the links in the menu "links"). he was a very strong cyclist who came with Kevin Speed, Daniel Gobert and the two swedish guys Jerry Nilson and Fredrik Granlund, in the bus of our organization in the Tatras meeting in 2012. We remembered how he explained us, travelling in his country, all the history of his country and all the cycling evoilution of his country.
Cycloclimbing lost one of his pionneers. Climb there up, Pavel and so many thanks from here below.
The explanation of the accident

Above-average successful edition of the Tour de Prague, unfortunately, soon overshadowed by the tragic news. Two-time participant in the Tour de Prague from 2010 and 2013 Pavel Vaniš alias Teplákáč had on the day of this year TdP serious traffic accident, whose consequences a few days later on June 12 died in hospital.
According to available information, the accident occurred on Saturday, May 31 around 19:30 in the city of Suchdol at a gas station in the street Kamýcká. So at a time when the peloton of the Tour de Prague, he cuts the last few kilometers outside of Prague. Paul eater direction of Prague did not prevail, and thus no chance of drivers commuting from the petrol station. Everyone who knew Paul, we know that never carried a helmet. This nuisance otherwise cyclist body and soul to eventually become probably fatal. As it turned out, fatal head and spinal injuries are incompatible with life.
Of course, the question is why Paul fateful day actually did not travel with us. The answer will probably be forever subject of speculation, but invite him this fate missed and so the fateful day gave the bike itself.
