2) THE EVOLUTION

We are careful at the evolution of our BIG-challenge, in a quantity viewpoint but also in a quality viewpoint. After a terribly increasing period looking at the quantity, we're working currently to increase the quality.
Quantity
We were 634 at the end of the year 2007 and we'll surely be around 3380 at the end of the year 2010. It's a big-boom, of course. However, a few negative and positive remarks are necessary.
* The increasing of the year 2008 due to the new website hadn't been the same this year with the last new website. The first website seemed to open many doors. The new one doesn't work to increase the amount of members but the amount of visitors a day : yes !
* The increasing of the amount of new members a year is decreasing : 1100 in 2008, 800 in 2009, 700 in 2007. Nevertheless, some people said in 2008 : "you've sold your aim to the devil ! After the big-boom, it will be the big-bang!". Not at all, we are going to a kind of stability with about 500 new members a year and it would be ok for us to manage this evolution.
* Some other people are saying : "your amount of members doesn't mean anything. Plenty of new members aren't active and subscribed with only 1 BIG". It's right in a relative way with the decreasing of the percentages of real active members, but in another way, the graphics that you can observe show a real increasing in an absolute way of the active members, and a very great increasing of motivated members. Plenty of members are over the 20 bigs a year and 125 members have now reached the step "big5" with 164 BIGs. The basis increased but the head increased too, even if some members are not really big-members. And it's the main thing.
Quality
To increase too quickly isn't a good thing. After this period of increasing, we must now win some stability. We used some strategy to organize better our activities and to give solidity to our superlist.
* the contributions in money are few but we are not a commercial association. Simply now, it's better than before and our bankcounts give us the permission to work better for you. Of course, more contributions would be a plus to give you additional services but we're not like a few years ago with the impossibility to create new activities or materials. Thant to the efficiency of our treasurer Christian Le Corre.
* the committee is always searching the best way to work; but since a few years, with discussions in the meetings, with the forums, with the experience won with the years, more and more committee's members know better and better the BIG-challenge.
* the superlist got changes year after year to be updated and adapted to the cycloclimbing reality. In order to win some stability, to have time to study the new dispatching in Europe, and to base our work on precise documents, we edited recently a BIG-method thank to Eric Lucas, managed a filter-group to help the judges of the list to keep it as fix as possible until 2015, created a group of analysts for a general analysis of the challenge and decided to suggest to each country to manage its own "national challenge-big stamp" according to this big-method.
