ITA-174 - Bergamo Alta - San Vigilio
REPETTI M A U R O - 08-01-2024:
Climb 1,9 km long with beautiful atmosphere and views ; start in Bergamo from Via Maironi (273 mt) you reach the road of Giro di Lombardia through Porta San Lorenzo and Via della Boccola (here slope 15 %)
After reached Colle Aperto (mt 367) , turn left under Porta S.Alessandro, and in a moment you are on the COBBLES.
Very uneven cobbles until you turn right for Via Sudorno when you take on the right Via San Vigilio, this beautiful climb where cobbles are better and there is also flat pavement on the left.
Slope are important, until 18 % in some parts ; difficulty can be people and tourists that walk up and down the road (and mostly dont understand what we cyclists are doing.....).
At the top (mt 461) a nice church, the station of the cable-railway and wonderful views on Bergamo, you are
in the HIGHEST point of Bergamo.
