UKD-268 - Swain's Lane + Highgate Hill

REPETTI M A U R O - 26-02-2023:
Swain's lane is known as the steepest road in London,
It is short, 900 meters, and wonderful to climb it.
It starts with a gentle 5-6%, than just before the gates of Highgate cemetery is 7-8 % (large road until here), than
road turning left, and kick up in the darkness of the trees, with an high brick wall on the left; the road narrows and reach here the max slope of 15-16 % ;
when a radio mast appears, only some meters for the top
It is a quiet climb (bit of traffic but not too much) , picturesque and is priceless its conquer.

Cycled from Mott Street, Epping Forest as didn't relish the thought of driving into London. On the way cycled the steeper and longer Muswell Hill, a real challenge in traffic so cycled the pavement up! Also recommend the same from Archway however Swain's Lane is a quiet road to the metal tower near the top.
