UKD-265 - Bison Hill

REPETTI M A U R O - 16-01-2023:
Climbed from Edlesborough, this road is busy with many cars - tarmac very good.
At the bottom is 6-7 % , before rising up to a peak of 17 per cent in the middle of the ascent.
The road then eases off with a three % average gradient before it back up with a short part of ten per cent before top.
I parked car to the top, in the Whipsnade ZOO free car park.

Start from Eaton Bray. Good pub food here and good car parking for the climb. Near the top to the left of the road is a gate to Bison Hill itself. Worth a detour to walk the steps to the hill for the view of Ivinghoe Beacon, the highest point of the Chiltern Hills across the valley. At the top is Whipsnade Zoo. On the approach can be seen the penguin enclosure and wallabies
