ITA-036 - Colma di Valpiana (incl. Madonna del Sasso)

Climbed in a mild day of november with super autumn colors, this climb is AMAZING !!!!
Start in front of S.Albino Church in Pella (alt 305 mt) , the first 400 mt (via Petrarca) are cobbled (round cobbles) ; after the first bend in front of you a WALL where slope reach easily 25% or more....the day I climb was humid with leaves, so I had stay seat all the climb, very hard , but did it !!
The average of this 400 mt cobbled are 18% with - like i said - 25 % max.
What a beginning for a climb ahah, I would say WONDERFUL !!
after this you reach SP 46, the main road - take right at Carabinieri house, take right again for SP49.
Attention here, after 500 metri take left for Via Giuseppe Frua (also if x Santuario says right, but is x Buses !!)
Here begin a wonderful serie of hairpins that lead to the roundabout of the Santuario Madonna del Sasso (I visit it in the downhill).
Go straight for Colma Valpiana (3 km from Santuario) in another SUPERB road very irregular = flat, 17%, flat, 17 % and so on for many steps, until you reach the top in the middle of the forest.
Traffic middle week = zero
tarmac good
view on Lago d'Orta, Isola San Giulio e Mottarone absolute amazing.
Santuario worth a visit, with its great terrace on the cliff with a view that take your breathe away.
Wonderful climb !!!!
