BIG MEETING 2025 - THE ALPS (FRANCE)
20-12-2024The Meeting 2025 will be from 6-9-2025 till 14-9-2025.
I prebooked 2 chalets in St Léger les Mélèzes for 12 participants for 4 days. And another chalet in Barcelonnette also for 4 days. The programm is very flexible because we stay in each chalet for 4 days. In the region you find many climbs: BIGs, TGVs and Natachas: you pick them yourselves!
I will try to cycle the programm as shown in the page 'meeting" of our website, you decide if you will join me, or climb another option......
We travel saturday 6 September, so we meet in the evening in chalet de Choumeau, Route du Barry, 05260 Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes. You can cook your own meal in the chalet, but there are also restaurants in the village. We start cycling on sunday 7 September at 9.00 h and climb Col de Manse, Col de Festre and Col de Noyer.
Monday 8 september we start at 9.00 h and cycle Orcières Merlettes, Cote de Serre-Eyraud and Chaillol 1600.
Tuesday 9 september, we have a special day with the beautiful climb of Mont Colombis, Col de Moissires and Col des Sagne. But that is too far to cycle all by bike, so me and another driver take half of the groupe to Remollon, they start cycling there and cycle back 'home', the others start cycling from 'home' to Remollon, do the climbs, and go back by car.
Wednesday 10 September wy cycle to Barcelonnette by Col de Mossière, Station des Réallon, and Col de Pontis. We stay another 4 nights in Chalet 1-2-3 Soleil 13 Avenue du Grand Bérard in Barcelonnette. I will drive by car and take your luggage. In the evenening I drive back to St Lèger les Mélèzes and you can ride with me if you want to pick up your car.
Thursday 11 Sepember: you can choose what you like: Tunnel de Parpaillon by MTB (bring it with you, or do rent a MTB), Col de Vars, Col de Larche, Maljasset, Pra Loup or Super-Sauze. I will take a pauze because the next day will be very heavy!!
Friday 12 september: the day of the famous ride over Cayolle, Champs and Allos!!
Saturday 13 september: the Grande Finale with the highest alpine paved road: Cime de la Bonette to an altitude of 2800 m.
Sunday 14 september: we say goodbye and travel home! Once again: you pick your own programm and decide for yourselve which climbs you do.... Food: I take care of a good cyclist breakfast for you, you pay me 6 euro per day. You take care for your own food during the day. In the evening we decide weather we cook ourselves a nice dinner (and who does the shopping....), or we go to a restaurant.
The costs of the chalets are € 2000,- So if there are 12 participants, each one pays € 170,- if we are only with 6 participants each one pays € 340,- and everything in between.....
If there are more than 12 participants I will arrange more accommodation but this will be more expensive..... So make a quick reservation, lets say before 1-2-2025, you pay me before 1-4-2025.
