UKD-244 - The Wrekin (incl. Iron Bridge)

REPETTI M A U R O - 06-03-2023:
I suggest to take a little time for this area, cos both Ironbridge and Wrekin worth some visit time.
The start is from Ironbridge village, where lies the famous Unesco World Heritage "Iron Bridge" , a cast iron arch bridge that crosses the River Severn in Shropshire, opened in 1781, it was the first major bridge in the world to be made of cast iron.
The climb is gentle for 8 km, passing through the village and nearby the numerous museums in the area, than through a single lane road (Coalbrookdale Rd) that lead at nice village of Little Wenlock ; some flat and descent until Wrekin car park, before the attack of the Wrekin Trail, 2,3 km of gravel that I climbed at 99% with my road bike (but I suggest a mountain bike) ; this part has slope without going down 9-10 % with some part also near 20 % , with gravel full of pointed rocks to avoid.
You reach the top with a mast on your right, and a trig-point at 407 mt high.

Off road is 2.3km at 10%. Rideable with mountain bike but I wheeled a road bike up the first section. Be prepared to give way to walkers
