2012 : SUMMARY OF THE YEAR (1/4)
19-12-2012Here is the summary of the year 2012 in 4 chapters, just like every year : the events, the evolution, the website and the material.
1. The events
a) The official crossroad in Scotland didn't happen due to a lack of participants. In a general way, the english and scottish members don't answer at all to the invitations of Kevin Speed, their manager. It's a pity but let's hope that it will be better in the coming years.
b) The official international meeting happened well in the Tatras mountains. Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland saw many B.I.G members climbing their national wellknown climbs, wearing the blue jersey with the yellow stars of the association. A good group, with many usual participants of these kinds of meetings, dispatched into small groups all along the days. And we can thank very much the managers of those countries who welcome us with plenty of kindness and knowledge of their countries.

c) There were also 2 regional meetings in 2 popular countries of our challenge : Germany and Hungary. 22 participants in Germany under the management of Anja Von Heydebreck, Claudia Sommer and Heiko Linnert, met in Schönau-im-Breisgau, in the Black Forest and also 22 members met in Hungary to climb 3 times the famous highest climb of the country : the Kekestetö, under the magician tours of Gabor Kreicsi.

d) There was also a special group event on the slopes of the Cauberg, one week before the triumph of Philippe Gilbert in the world championship. We were 11 members succeeding in climbing 27 times this dutch top, just like the professional racers 50 years ago.

Next year, some events are under works in the belgian Ardennes for the yearly official meeting, but also in Germany and Hungary too. Which country will be ready to manage something like that , too ?
