UKD-221 - Heights of Abraham

SPEED Kevin - 03-07-2022:
The unusual name of the area is derived from the site of General Wolfe's victory and death at Quebec in 1759. It was chosen by locals in the Matlock area because the narrow gorge of the Derwent Valley here is said to resemble the St Lawrence river in Canada. Please note that the upper section of the climb is only possible when the pleasure park 'Heights of Abraham' is open. From the top and across the valley to the opposite hills, Riber Castle is prominent across the valley
