The SW side is modified, staying on the Bürgenstockstrasse all the way'. The summit is slightly moved from the car park to the Hotel Villa Honegg, with a huge view to the Vierwaldstättersee / Lake Lucerne .

After reaching the ridge at Etschried, the SW climb includes an about 900m long rough dirt road. But anyway, the very nice view outweighs the effort by far.
