CHE-245 - Penudria (Arosio)

This AMAZING climb in Lugano zone is one of the monuments of local cycling, one of the most feared by cyclists ;
it is so hard that 100 meters seem a km !!
Penudria is the name in local dialect, and it wait you with its 12% average slope (more, if you take away the first 600 mt at 6-7 % from start) ;
after these 600 meters, when you find on your right the Bar Marisa, all change = from here no one meter under 11-12 % , but most of them from 15 to 21 %.
You pass the nice Cimaronco church and from here a lot of hairpins (not one permit you to take breathe) lead to the top ; only the last 100 mt are only 10% , and seems to fly, after 4 km where you have to use all the gears your bike has.
After reach the top, worth a visit the village and a ride (only 2km) to the stone cross above Arosio, nice view from there.
Road is enough large, 22 hairpins, tarmac perfect (Swtizerland !!) , traffic when I climbed was in waves, moment zero, moment many cars.
Park, I suggest behind Cimaronco church, 2 km from start, so you can preview how steep is the road.
A 4,1 km climb to be proud of, it is a divine gem not to be missed.
