ITA-089 - Mombarcaro
REPETTI M A U R O - 20-09-2022:
Climbed red track from Valle village - not easy to find the start of this side, cos is a very secondary road.
Mombarcaro is the HIGHEST POINT of the LANGHE - mt 887 ; the village is superb, with a magnificent church and panorama at 360 °; they say that in very clear days is possible to see the Savona's sea.
You enter in Mombarcaro under an arch, and from here begin a gentle cobbled section (not properly cobbles, but a type of tiles) that lead to the top at the church.
Just some meters under there is an aircraft, that was part of glorious FRECCE TRICOLORI ( acrobatic italian team), put there like a symbol of the highest point of Langhe.
Climb bites with 7,6% average and 14 % in Valle, road is narrow in the first part, that u join the main road and become larger, then, like I said, cobbles.
Traffic very poor, a MUST of a climb !!!!
