ITA-379 - Cima Gallistrena (CM Imola 2020)

REPETTI M A U R O - 07-04-2022:
The climb where Julien Alaphilippe attacked in september 2020 in the world championship is a true "killer" climb.
Start from the crossing on the main road (Sp 65) in Isola, the first part permit you to warm up, waiting the steep central and final part, of this 2,10 km long climb.
The first 800 mt - like I said - start with an "easy" 5%, than drop down to 2% and 1% near Gallisterna church ;
after bended left the "hell" begin = 1 km with average 11% and max slope of 15-16 % - in these last meters Alaphilippe attacked in 2020 (and a wonderful picture on the left of the road remember his effort - watch my photos)
Last 100 meters at 2 %.
The road is well tarmaced and with very less traffic.
Like the Appennini seem to be on another palnet, quiet places, very few people around, a very peaceful place.
There is the possibility of bike the entire circuit of the WC Imola 2020, infact many plates show you the direction (circuit long 28,8 km with 2 main climbs , Mazzolano and this Gallisterna - https://imola-er2020.it/circuito-permanente-percorso/ )
Gallisterna is near the village where the famous motorbike pilot Loris Capirossi grow up, Borgo Rivola.
Watch my photos in the climb page.
