UKD-224 - Michaelgate

REPETTI M A U R O - 06-03-2023:
In my opinion Lincoln cathedral is one, if not the most beautiful, of the best in Europe (and probably in the world) ; also the town worth a visit with its numerous cobbled steep road that lead to the top of the hill, exactly where lies the immense church.
The climb on the Big site starts from Brayford Pool (alt 10 mt) and reach the bottom of cobbled Michaelgate through Hungate road.
The famous Michaelgate cobbled road has been decisive in many UK races, in particular the annual Lincoln Grand Prix and also in the 2015 British road race championships, is 250 meters long with an average of 13,5 % and max 17-18 %.
Cobbles are in sufficient condition, but with some large gaps between them.
It is an iconic climb with the castle on the left and the Cathedral on the right, that u can see many times during the ascent.
It is a climb to do absolutely in life, maybe more than once in a day (I climbed also Steep road).
